Brush Management
Residents may leave brush at the curb for regular garbage pick-up. Limbs must be cut to 4-foot lengths or less, weigh no more than 35 lbs. and tied securely with string. Place the waste, up to five (5) bags or tied bundles, at curbside along with the household garbage. Brush that is collected curbside is taken to the landfill and is not recycled.
For those citizens who prefer to recycle their yard waste, the Collection Station, located at 250 W.L. Walden Drive (off north College Street), accepts brush and other yard waste. All yard waste brought to the Collection Station is ground into mulch, and this mulch is free to City and non-City residential utility customers. This is self-serve, so bring a shovel, container, and your current City of Georgetown utility bill and photo ID.
- In-City residents may bring yard waste to the Collection Station at no charge
- Non-City residents pay $7.30 per cubic yard for brush disposal at the Collection Station
- Commercial or ETJ customers pay $15.60 per cubic yard.
For additional information, call Texas Disposal Systems at (512) 930-1715.
If severe City-wide storms occur, the City will arrange for special clean-ups at no cost to in-City customers. Note: If trees or limbs are in roadways or touching utility lines, please contact Georgetown Utility Systems at (512) 930-3555 and a crew will be dispatched.
