Bulky Waste Disposal

BULKY WASTE DISPOSAL AT CURBSIDE

City of Georgetown residents with bulky-waste materials (furniture, mattresses, toilets, refrigerators, washers, dryers etc.) can request a special bulky waste collection four times per fiscal year (Oct. 1 to Sept. 30) by calling Texas Disposal Systems at 512-930-1715.

Bulky waste collections will be scheduled on the residents regular pickup day. Do not place items for this collection on the curb more than 24 hours before your scheduled collection. Extra charges may apply to certain items (a refrigerator for example) due to special handling requirements.

Volumes exceeding 3 cyd are $30.67/cyd. To determine how many cubic yards you may have for pick-up, multiply length x width x height (in feet) and divide by 27. For example, 4’ x 3’ x 5’ = 60 cubic feet/27 = 2.22 cubic yards. Also, a 96 gallon cart is approximately one-half cubic yard.

Unacceptable items include, tires, vehicle batteries, hazardous materials (all items with warning labels), and construction waste such as bathtubs, cabinetry, or sheet rock. Construction materials in good condition may be donated to the Habitat Re-store. Call the Re-store for information at 512-869-2070.

Items such as clothing, housewares, and furniture can be reused by charitable organizations such as the Caring Place (512-869-4735) or Goodwill at (512-868-9547).

BULKY WASTE DISPOSAL FOR multifamily/OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS

City of Georgetown schedules two, free, community-collection events each year, where any resident can dispose of tires, electronics, furniture, mattresses, and have paper shredded.

Otherwise, there are private companies that offer curbside, bulky-waste pickup.

TDS does not offer curbside bulky-waste pickup to multifamily complexes, because they are considered commercial properties. Residents should work with their complex on the best way to dispose of bulky items.
