New Residents
Welcome to the City of Georgetown, we’re glad you made the choice to come live in our beautiful city.
New residents often find themselves with extra moving materials after unpacking their belongings.
Moving boxes and packing papers may be recycled in your recycling cart. No Styrofoam products including Styrofoam packing peanuts are accepted for recycling at this time. See our vendor Texas Disposal Systems “Yes/No” list for more information on what you can recycle.
If the boxes and papers do not fit into your cart, you are allowed to use a cardboard box to neatly hold the excess materials; just place it all out on the curbside on your recycling collection day and our vendor will pick it all up. Please DO NOT use a plastic bag to put your extra recyclables in. For a large amount of cardboard boxes, you may neatly stack them next to your recycling cart.
You may also take recyclable materials to the Georgetown Transfer Station (GTS) and dispose of them at no charge. The GTS is located at; 250 W.L. Walden Road, Georgetown, Texas.
There is no need to use a Bulky Waste pick-up or purchase a Bag Tag for recyclable items. There is no limit as to the amount of recyclables collected at the curbside.
